Since Mort passed away in Feb we’ve been thinking about getting a kitten, but we wanted the situation to be right and with Maurice still holding on it was going to be a tricky dance. Then a few days ago I saw a post on Bluesky from John Scalzi’s daughter Athena about finding a bonded pair of brother kittens that needed a home.
Since Mort and Maurice had been bonded brothers that we rescued when they were six years old, this hit me and I liked the idea of getting longer with new rescues than the 7 years we got with Mort and the (hopefully) 8 or so years we get with Maurice. So I emailed John and worked out the logistics. then yesterday we went to rural Ohio to pick them up.
Once we found what traveling music they liked (90s country and 80s pop), they settled into the drive nicely.

Say hello to Zorro (black and white) and Ed (orange), the new Michigan branch of The Scamperbeasts. Welcome to the family.
