Tree Town to Motown
Today I get to cut out of work early and be chauferr to New York Times Bestselling Author Laura Lippman for her trip to Ann Arbor. While I still love Ann Arbor, this is actually the first time I will have spent signifigant time downtown in quite a while. Lately I’ve been spending more time downtown Detroit, partaking of it’s fantastic revivival.
Yesterday, my girlfriend took me to see the Tigers play at Comerica Park. The game started off well enough, with temps in the 50s and some nice sun shining down on us. But around the sixth inning it started getting colder and windier. The tigs were up when we left but then managed to blow the game. I don’t think it had anything to do with us leaving. After the game, we spent some time in Greektown and also visited John King Books, the largest used and rare bookstore in the state. Next week, of course, I’ll be visiting my favorite city for Edgar Week. It’s hard to believe I haven’t been back since after September 11.
