Some Entries to the Facebook Archive

Here’s what I’ve been talking about over at Facebook lately. I’m posting these here because they mean something to me and I’d like to save them which Facebook really doesn’t let you do.

Traded in my black plastic glasses for a large brown pair similar to those worn by every male author in book jacket photos from the 70s

Found my holy grail of sport coats tonight. Brown corduroy Ralph Lauren w/ leather patches and paisley silk lining. On sale to boot.

Enjoying hot links and ribs from Famous Daves because I’m easily swayed by social media food conversations. And yes, Famous Daves is what passes for good bbq in the suburbs but I think it’s quite good for a chain.

Just booked my trip for the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in KC. Who’s gonna be there with me?

Netflix screwed up the order I received my discs of GIRLS and I think it saved the show for me. I watched the second half of S1 first and enjoyed it. Recently I started watching the first half and can see why people hate these characters. As someone who was quite the narcissistic 24 year old writer convinced I was the voice of my generation, I can relate to quite a lot of what she’s doing. But I was also insufferable back then and lost some good friends because of it. I think the characters are better drawn in the second half of the season and I’m more willing to go along with Dunham’s style. If The first episodes I’d seen had been the first several I would have bailed. Especially the pilot. I wanted to smack all of them after the pilot

When combing a little boy’s hair is there any middle ground between him looking like a tiny hobo or one of the Children of the Corn?
