Hey Mr. Mailman

Today was probably the best mail day I’ve had as a writer. First, I got a $25 check from THE BACK ALLEY WEBZINE for my story RUINS OF DETROIT which should be going live this coming week. This is the first check I’ve received for original fiction and I thank editor Richard Helms for accepting the story and paying me for it. He’ll be part of a memory I will always cherish in my writing career. Also in that mail batch were the contracts for CADAVER DOG and the YEARS FINEST anthology. I’ve been chipping away at the book too, not quite getting the sort of word counts I like, but two days in a row of over 1000 yards so I can’t really complain. We’ve still got plenty of time left in November.

  1. Congrats! I submitted a story that still has some revising to do before it might be published.
If you’ve got any PI-stuff you want to publish, feel free to submit to Sons of Spade!
