End Game Zen

It’s amazing how just taking a deep breath and going back and reading the last 50 pages or so that I’ve written can give me a new perspective on where I’m at. I tend to get so wrapped up in the day-to-day writing and the immediate scene that I forget where I stand in the big picture. Once I reread the stuff that came before though, I have a better idea of where I was going.

I used to reread the previous day’s writing before I started on the current day, but as I find myself with more limited blocks of writing time I find myself just jumping in and rereading only the last couple of pages which isn’t very good for continuity. It’s obvious now that I need to make time every few days for rereading to keep my head on straight.
